Super 8mm Log keeps track of your Super 8 cartridges: what's in the fridge, what's loaded in the camera, and roughly how much film is left on the ones you've already started. Scan the barcode on a Kodak cartridge and the app knows which cart it is. Photograph your camera's footage counter before you pull a cart and the app reads it and works out what's left. It also tracks lab shipments and reminds you when a stock is running low.
Everything stays on your iPhone. There's no account, no server, and nothing to sign up for.
Need help, found a bug, or want something added?
Email hello@super8mmlog.com and I'll get back to you. I'm a one-person shop, so it's me answering.
Please include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when it went wrong. A screenshot helps more than anything.
The app guessed my footage wrong.
It's an approximation. Tap the reading and change it, and everything after that recalculates. You can also correct a reading days later.
I don't know how much film is left on a cart.
When you add it, set film left to unknown. The cart still counts as partly used.
Do I have to use the camera?
No. Every cartridge can be added by hand with a serial or your own marker number.
Where's my data?
On your phone, in the app. It isn't uploaded anywhere.
